Portrait
Biography
Sophie Duvent is a versatile artist whose work moves effortlessly between songwriting, opera, and contemporary composition.
She writes and composes across a diverse range of styles, always guided by a distinctive sense of melody and emotion.
She is an accomplished opera singer and completed her vocal studies at the HfM Karlsruhe. As a mezzo-soprano, she has performed under her given name on renowned theatre and concert stages.
Her connection to music began early. She started playing the guitar in childhood and, at just 15, was given the opportunity to professionally record her own songs. Since then, she has performed her original music at venues including the Prinz-Emil-Schlösschen and Centralstation Darmstadt.
Even when her songs are stripped down to voice and guitar, the influence of her classical training remains unmistakable; subtle, refined, and deeply woven into her musical expression.
In 2026, Sophie Duvent co-founded the Spanish-language pop duo “El Camino del Sol” with Cesar Hermes. Together, they bring their music to audiences across Europe and Latin America.
But her artistic world extends far beyond songwriting and opera. Drawing on her experience as both a vocalist and composer, Sophie Duvent creates orchestral works rooted in the New Classical style. Her compositions often merge the organic sound of the orchestra with electronic textures and rhythmic beats.
One of her greatest dreams is to hear one of her own compositions become part of a film.
